    Come Cook Some Chili on the Canal

    November 5th will be the 5th Annual Metamora Chili Cook Off, and everyone is invited to come!  Entries close at 8 AM, and the cooking begins with judging taking place at noon. $200 First place, $80 Second place with gift baskets for Third and for the People's Choice Awards.  Entry forms can be found on line at

    While the cooking is going on, regional musicians will be entertaining the crowd.  Sounds of Home from Farmland, Harvey Branch String Band from Oldenburg, and Peachpickers from Muncie will be joining in the fun this year.

    Visit to learn more about the Chili Cook-off, the Tree Lighting on Nov 19th, and our famous Christmas Walk that begins the Friday of Thanksgiving.  Metamora is located in the rolling hills of southeastern Indiana about half way between Indianapolis and Cincinnati, just north of Interstate 74.  Home of the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site where you can buy fresh corn meal and grits from the Metamora Grist Mill. Visit our shops and eateries while you're in town.

    Country Heritage Winery and Vineyard

    Country Heritage Winery and Vineyard opened April 2011 and is owned and operated by Jeremy & Jennifer Lutter who also own Blueberry Acres. The Winery has a wine selection that changes seasonally but offers a variety of white, red, rose, and fruit wines. The new facility also has a gift shop which offers a variety of local products from award-winning cheese, hand-made chocolate, barbeque sauce and wine accessories.
